Over 700 LTTE Carders freed tomorrow
Several hundred LTTE cadres, including females, now in government custody, are expected to be released over weekend at a ceremony to be held in the North. Authoritative sources told The Island that 202 women and 511 men had been selected to be released at a ceremony attended by President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
Among them would be 98 children.
Responding to our queries, sources said that they were exploring the possibility of releasing some more detainees in addition to the number already selected to join the mainstream society.
