Police must maintain democracy
Police should build up a good rapport with the public by being close and trustworthy and the police station has to be place where anyone can walk in without any fear or suspicion. They should not be intimidated by anybody and ensure to maintain the democracy and peace of the country. The police getting the blame mean the government also getting the blame.
This was said by President Mahinda Rajapakse addressing a faction of Senior Police Officers at a meeting held yesterday (13) at the Temple Trees.
