LTTE Man arrested after 13 Years
After 13 years the CID has arrested one important person who was connected with the Central Bank Bomb attack in 1996 carried out by the LTTE.

Sellathamby Navaratnam and 10 others including LTTE leader Velupillai Prabhakaran and Intelligence Chief Pottu Amman were indicted in 2002 for the 1996 January 31, attack that killed at least 91 people and injured 1,400 with Prabhakaran being sentenced in absentia to 200 years in jail.

Sellathamby Navaratnam had produced a false Identity card showing his age as 63 while he was only 53 and has been arrested at Chettikulam camp for the refugees. He had brought 200 Kg of explosives in a lorry which was later used for the attack. The courts that inquired the case in 2002 had passed 200 years of jail in absentia to the person Sellathamby Navaratnam who was arrested.
