The UNP MP for the Hambanthota District Mr. Sajith Premadasa said in Colombo on the 23rd that the government does not have a program, the enthusiasm or the capability to provide homes to 1.2 million homeless families in the country.

He stressed on the need for many housing projects in the country and pledged that people will be provided houses under an UNP government of the future.

Premadasa stated that the extent of the bankruptcy of this govt is clearly evident by their attempts after ten years to collect housing loans written off by late President Premadasa, out of pity for the extremely poor people in this country. He added that he vehemently condemn this program launched by the present govt through the Housing Development authority.
