He made this announcement in response to the reports that came in local and foreign media of him being involved in a conspiracy with some other retired army officers to topple the govt that he did not have any discussion with anyone about such a conspiracy.

He also said in it that Brig DC Keppetiwalana came to see him last 6th January to his office to get some help from me to revoke a punishment transfer given to him over some incident that had taken place at the Ampara Combat training school as he is an old school mate and a distant relative and he never spoke of any conspiracy to topple the govt at that meeting as falsely implied by the above newspaper reports.
