64 Ballot Papers found in Ratnapura PDF Print E-mail
UNP Deputy Leader Karu Jayasuriya, led a delegation to meet the Mahanayake Theros of Malwatte and Asgiriya and complained that the Presidential election was "corrupt and unjust." Deputy leader of the UNP Karu Jayasuriya took 64 ballot papers found in a gutter in Ratnapura which had a cancellation seal to Kandy and forwarded it over the chief prelate of Malwatte chapter Ven Thibbatuwawe Sri Sumangala Maha nayaka thero.

Mr Jayasuriya, while pointing out that out of the 64 ballot papers, 27 have been marked for gen. Sarath Fonseka and none were marked for Mahinda Rajapakse, requested the ven. Thero to get involved in fighting against election corruption
