TNA wants to meet MR while TULF slams them PDF Print E-mail
After loosing of hope to grab power through a coalition with Gen. Fonseka, the Tamil National Alliance (TNA) has suddenly expressed their willingness to hold talks with re-elected President Mahinda Rajapaksa, if the president extends an invitation.

TNA MP Suresh Premachandran who was accusing the Rajapakse Govt. of many things before the presidential elections says that the party is willing to discuss issues of genuine concern to the Tamil citizenry should they be given a chance to do so.

Giving a joint press conference today TNA leader R. Sampanthan along Rauff Hakeem stated that they intent to contest the upcoming General Election on a common platform to represent the Tamil speaking population in Sri Lanka. At this press conference Sampanthan too said that he is ready to meet the President if invited to discuss genuine power sharing proposals for Tamils in an undivided Sri Lanka.

Meanwhile TULF leader Anandasangaree has slammed the TNA in no uncertain terms with a press release today. He has questioned whom does the TNA represent at all and accused the TNA of driving the Sinhala Masses to one-side, and creating suspicion in the minds of the ordinary Sinhalese people, that Tamil Eelam will be created by the actions of TNA.
