1,000 Tigers to be released soon PDF Print E-mail
The govt has taken steps to reconnect about 1,000 LTTE cadres with their families in the coming two weeks. They have already identified these people, who are living in various parts or the island after the war ended in last May. Meanwhile govt sources said that the list of cadres to be released before the Presidential elections is being prepared by the Ministry of Justice. Minister of Justice Mr. Milinda Moragoda, who undertook a tour of Chettikulam recently, also said that more cadres could be released in the near future. Meanwhile essential services Commissioner Major Gen. Daya Senanayake said that already arrangements have been made to release 805 former cadres.
