59 Tamils leaving SL arrested

69 Tamils who have been sailing illegally from the Eastern Coast towards Australia in a Trawler have been arrested by the navy. Reliable sources say that they have been taken on the 23rd to the Southern Naval Authority for questioning. Navy says that most of these were residents of Batticoloa. It is not confirmed whether there were any members of the LTTE in the group that was trying to escape.
