Presidential Elections First PDF Print E-mail
During an urgent meeting at the Temple Trees today President Mahinda Rajapaksa informed UPFA party leaders that he has decided to hold a Presidential election first next year. Election Commissioner Mr. Dayananda Dissanayake may announce the date of the poll tomorrow. Party leaders of the United People Freedom Alliance (UPFA) are currently at a meeting with President Mahinda Rajapaksa over the upcoming elections, senior government Minister D.M Jayaratna told Daily Mirror online a short while ago.
The Notification will be gazetted this evening calling for a Presidential election early next year.
