RS.3 Bil. For the Jaffna Teaching Hospital PDF Print E-mail
Japanese government has given Rs.3 billions for the rehabilitation of Jaffna Teaching Hospital. One senior health department official said the money would be utilized to develop Jaffna hospital into a hospital with all modern facilities to serve the people of Jaffna peninsular.

For a long time the hospital had not been developed and the patients had to be sent to other hospitals as there were no facilities in the hospital. The hospital that is 150 years old would be developed into a modern hospital with all facilities he said. Accordingly a four story building would be constructed with special emergency operation theaters, cardiology unit, Neurology unit, and other special units would be in this building.

Once they are opened the people of Jaffna wouldn’t need to go to other hospitals for treatment.
