Another Chance to East Muslim Paramilitary Forces. |

Eastern province DIG Mr. Edson Gunatilake said that the defence sections have once again extended the common amnesty period given to Muslim paramilitary forces in the east to hand over their weapons.
Investigations in to these groups will continue and it is learnt that although these groups have a lot of arms what they have handed over so far is just a small percentage. It is also said that Kaju Samad, leader of an armed Muslim group in Eravur, was shot dead a few days after he handed over some of their weapons to the police.
