120000 IDPs have been resettled PDF Print E-mail
The government says that they have been able to resettle about 120000 people in their villages.

The resettlement of the people which was started from the Musalee Regional secretary division in the Mannar district is now done in Jaffna, Kilinochchi, Mulaitivu, Trincomalee, Batticaloa, and Ampara districts.

It is reported that most number of the people has been resettled in Jaffna and are 41343, in Trincomalee district 6576 Mannar 5673 Vavuniya 10113. In addition in Batticaloa 2465 in Mulaitivu 3090 and Ampara 583.
The problem the government faces When resettling the people is the removal of the land mines and the government has bought fifteen machineries at three times to the cost of 750 million.
