Question the Ministers who spoke against Sarath Fonseka PDF Print E-mail
The Leader of the Opposition Mr. Ranil Wickremesinghe asks why the President who vows to protect the brave members of the armed services and police is engaging his stooge politicians to attack General Sarath Fonseka. He posed the question during a dialogue with the public held in the Homagama electorate on the 18th. The Chief Editor of Lanka had been arrested and questioned. “The three correspondents from Lanka who visited a palace in Beverly Estate at Deniyaya were kept under detention. The Editor of Lanka was arrested to question on why it was reported that Gen. Sarath Fonseka was going to appear as a Presidential candidate. What is wrong in reporting this? If the report is false the readers will reject the newspaper. Is it such a crime to require arrest?  The issue was created by the government and not a newspaper or any other organization” Mr. Wijerathne added.
