Later when some other colleagues went to the Homagama Police, both of them were not there. Inquiries made from Police Headquarters said they are not aware of such an arrest.

According to sources Criminal Investigations Department had wanted to question Sirimalwatta over a news item published on this Sunday’s issue regarding the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) Sarath Fonseka.
After being questioned for nearly 3 hours, the editor was released.

According to CID Chief Nandana Munasinghe investigators wanted to know the source of information for the story on October 16th regading Chief of Defence Staff. But Sirimalwatta has refused to name the source.
Last week military spokesperson Udaya Nanayakkara too denied any rift between President Rajapaksa and General Fonseka, who is now the Chief of Defence Staff.

Further General Fonseka himself has denied any plans to come in to Sri Lankan politics in the next presidential elections, amid speculation carried out by sections of the media and opposition parties UNP and JVP.
