Bogollagama expresses GOSL s disappointment. PDF Print E-mail
Foreign Minister Rohitha Bogollagama summoned Norwegian ambassador Tore Hatrem to his office and expressed serious disappointment of the Sri Lankan govt towards the Norwegian govt for permitting the LTTE front organizations to hold a meeting in Oslo to discuss the formation of a de-facto temporary Tamil govt.

outside the shores of Sri Lanka. The Minister also pointed out that at a time when bilateral relations between Sri Lanka and Norway is getting stronger permitting such acts in their soil would be detrimental.

Mr. Tore Hatrem in reply, stated that the Norwegian govt. has realized the disappointment of the Sri Lankan govt in this regard but it must be remembered that Norway has always been against the demand for a separate state in Sri Lanka and also followed an unchanged policy with regard to this crisis always.

The Norwegian ambassador however acknowledged the difficulty his govt. is facing in preventing Tiger activists crossing their border but gave the assurance that any person caught violating Norwegian laws will be punished.
