UNHCR driver accused transporting suicide kit PDF Print E-mail
It was revealed at the high courts yesterday that a UNHCR driver had assisted LTTE activities and helped them to transport a suicide kit from Kilinochchi to Thotalanga.

Attorney General accused Navarathnum Charles Ravindran alias Victor for transporting a suicide kit which comes under the category of firearms and ammunitions in a vehicle belonging to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugee (UNHCR) between April 1 to 30, 2008.

T Navarathnum Charles Ravindran alias Victor was also charged with aiding and abetting the LTTE. The accused had transported the suicide kit on the instruction of LTTE member Muhundhan and had handed it over to a person at Thotalanga.

The High Court fixed the hearing for November 5 and issued summons on the accused, a resident of Kurumannadu, Vavuniya. He was charged with committing offences punishable under the Emergency Regulation Act.
