Army exhibition extended PDF Print E-mail
Sri Lanka Army has extended its exhibition marking the 60th anniversary till the 11th of October at the BMICH to cater to the large crowds flocking to the see how the forces can defended the Nation.

Exhibition commenced last Saturday the 3rd and was to end on the 7th.  But there have been over 200 000 visitors from all parts of the country these few days. Army Spokesman Brigadier Udaya Nanayakkara explained that since there weren’t many holidays for people to travel to Colombo and see the wonders of the military on display the decision was taken to extend the show.

Exhibition showcases the highlights of the army in its six decades of protecting Sri Lankan soil. The showcase also presents the Army’s strategies and humanitarian efforts in capturing occupied land in the North from Mawilaru to the Nandikadal lagoon.

Brigadier Nanayakkara says “People from all over the country flock to this exhibition because they can see the weapons used by the Army in the war against terror and the hoards of weapons belonging to the LTTE that were found by the Army in one location.” He further said that Dayata Kirula exhibition had given a taste of the interesting history and possessions of the Army which attracted more to this exhibition.
