Media spokesan ofr the police have said Defense Secretary and the authorities have decided that a sivior punishments will be given to police officers even for a small mistake made by them.
The DIG has said this when the Sinhala news paper “Ravaya” enquired regarding the ethics of the police service when there are officers who molest ladies who go to the police to make a complaint. Media spokesman Mr. Mediwaka says that the police service is financed by the public and hence when a proper service is not rendered it betrays the public.
