Vavuniya Tiger rehabilitation camps shifted to East PDF Print E-mail
The Govt has decided to shift the rehabilitation camps run in Vavuniya to rehabilitate the LTTE suspects, to the East following the reason that these camps are stationed in Schools, Technical collages and Govt buildings.

Minister Milinda Moragoda said that since there is a pressing need to free these buildings for their original purposes a decision had been made to construct about 20 small rehabilitation camps in the east and transfer the Tiger suspects there. It is said that farms and plantations will be established near these camps along with vocational training centers and after one year of rehabilitation they will be permitted to go home.

Further It is leant that the President Rajapakse has advised Milinda Moragoda the minister for justice and legal reforms to take all necessary steps to coagulate the present terrorism prevention laws that are existed today. It is also learnt that the present terrorism prevention act that is enforced under the emergency law, too will get adjusted to restrain more powers.
