Proof required for resettling Sinhalese in Jaffna PDF Print E-mail
Minister Milroy Fernando responsible for Resettlement has promised Sinhalese families taking shelter at the Jaffna Railway station that they will soon receive land.


Minister of resettlement said it has been decided to have discussions with the GA and the Divisional Secretariats and others connected on the request the Sinhalese that have come there to get resettled.

If they have enough proof of their staying there they would be resettled if not they would be given alternative places to stay said the minister.

In the mean time TNA Members of Parliament met in Colombo to discuss the problem of colonizing the area with Sinhalese. It is also considering over starting its political activities all over the country and has requested the people to let them know of any colonizing activity in any area.

Minister Fernando stated that these Sinhalese families will be given back the land which belonged to them within the Jaffna Peninsula upon the completion of the legal proceedings regarding the government lands in these areas.
