Clandestine Tamil Radio stopped PDF Print E-mail
The Kalpitiya police have raided a clandestine radio station that had been running broadcasts in Tamil without obtaining the necessary permit to do so from the Telecommunication Regulatory commission.

Police also arrested two people on suspicion. It is said that this broadcast covered up to 15 kms in Kalpitiya and certain merchants in Kalpiriya have been advertising in it by paying Rs. 1,000/= or more.

The clandestine radio was called “Shikaran” (mountain top) and was broadcasting on FM wave bands.
